Jackson Wilcox, editor and cartoonist, kindly sent me a copy of HAIKU HIPPODROME.
HAIKU HIPPODROME is a SILVER WINGS publication. Both publications are poetry print journals, with their own special styles. They are identified with a California non-profit corporation called POETRY ON WINGS.
I am enjoying the inspiring haiku by many poets, along with the editor’s uplifting illustrations.

Dear Eve Jeanette,
Thank you for your kind comments and for sharing about all of your art. I have needlepoint from my grandmother, Grace–I feel as though I know her, even though she died before I was born.

designs in nature
those we create on paper
are special gifts
the sea and mist
the salt in our hair and face
the taste of romance
the empty boardwalk
the lone seagull and lifeguard
beach covered with bird
late August
the gray days are monotony
the sea and sky meet

the photograph fades
and the colors blend
into an abstract piece of art
covers of books
book plates
the designs we create
are the gifts
we leave
