beauty of the seasons

This past weekend, Karl and I saw fields with rows and rows of tiny corn plants.

We watch through the seasons; and when I can write a poem easily, it’s often because I’ve lived the poem a long time.

Sometimes we know we have simply been given a gift.

wind in fields
of corn and wildflowers
all these years
to find a few words
to tell this true

I wrote the poem in 2012.

The wildflowers are courtesy of Karen’s Whimsy.

  1. Beautiful words and flowers, Ellen! Thanks for your visits and follow. I thought I was already following you, but just re-followed again…it’s nice to reconnect. Have a lovely day!

    1. Dear Lauren, Thank you. This is my second blog, so perhaps you follow Poems From Oostburg, Wisconsin . . . congratulations on your book. Yes, nice to reconnect and hope you have a lovely day too! Ellen

      1. Oh, okay, Ellen, I didn’t know you had a second blog, but for some reason, I’m not receiving posts from your other blog, either. I’m having some WP issues that are frustrating. Anyway, thanks for the clarification and your new blog looks lovely, too!
