Haiku Sequence

study window
January trees seen
through icicles

long ago
and remembered today
my father’s birthday

time for lunch
cardinals by a pumpkin
in the garden

daylight
and more becomes clear
a rabbit in the garden

late January
new snow on a tree
by the window

sunrise
light and ice
on the water

(Lake Michigan)

blue sky and sun
shadows of spruce tree
on snow-covered yard

full moon and sunrise
cactus flowers
by the window

almost February
bright new blooms
on the Christmas cactus

after the storm
blue sky and
Spring poems

kitchen window
sun on the snowbank
by the garage

sun on the snowbank
where peonies and daylilies
will grow and bloom
