Mercy and Gratitude

We have enjoyed thrift stores in our area, over the years.

One example is Goodwill. Yesterday I learned that the Milwaukee Homeless Veterans Initiative (MHVI) and Goodwill are “strong partners.”

I have written poems about paintings and other art from thrift stores. Some of my favorite clothes are from the stores. I plan to look at my archives and rediscover a few poems, and post here with links to the store sites.

One of my goals this year is to go through my books and poetry journals, and then prepare a few boxes of gifts to donate. I also buy used books from other places at Amazon, and discover books discarded by libraries, for example. Only so much room to store, and good to share with new readers.

I love the old books. There may be an old library card, or a handwritten dedication. So many stories.

My previous post, MERCY, can be the first post in this series.
