Daily Prompt: December 23, 2022

When are you most happy?

Daily Prompt

I am grateful for simple everyday life. The house is warm, we have water, and I am able to sit and write a post. As others have written about the Psalms, we can learn to be grateful through our life chapters. There can be new happiness after grief.

We are sponsoring children in different countries with Compassion International. This week, through their email cards and help with translation, we sent Christmas and New Year greetings. And a general small gift to help with vaccinations in the world. This too is gratitude. We also support efforts to care for others here in Wisconsin, USA.

Take good care. Thank you and blessings.

Winter Solstice

I searched in my archives for a few poems about light.

these days
my heart is drawn
to pray more
and contemplate
the Light of the World

John 1: 5a (KJV): And the light shineth in darkness . . .

light shines
through one window
and falls on the wood
frame of another
the light is shared

Goals Can Be Revised and Renewed

Is your life today what you pictured a year ago?

Daily Prompt

I think a lot about what these last years have asked of everyone, in many ways. My 2022 calendar reflects goals met, new ideas, and revised goals. I have postponed a new book a few times (health and schedules), yet Quiet Christmas Poetry (2014) continues to be shared with others. So I am content with my work this year.

You can read all of the poems for free at Quiet Christmas Poetry.

So the year begins to end with gratitude and hope. Grateful for blogs and this way to create. One day at a time, God’s grace.

“But as it is written . . .”

But as it is written,
eye hath not seen,
nor ear heard,
neither have entered
into the heart of man,

the things which
God hath prepared
for them that love him.

1 Corinthians 2: 9 (KJV)
