strength, shield, heart, song

The LORD is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusted in him, and I am helped:

therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth;
and with my song will I praise him.

The Psalms and Short Poems

For the Psalms 2020 series, I worked with the King James Version of the Bible. I enjoyed reprinting some verses in the form of a short poem.

Two examples:

Be thou exalted, LORD,
in thine own strength:
so will we sing and praise thy power.

Psalm 21: 13

Let the words of my mouth,
and the meditation of my heart,
be acceptable in thy sight,
O LORD, my strength,
and my redeemer.

Psalm 19: 14

“Offer unto God thanksgiving”

Offer unto God thanksgiving;
and pay thy vows unto the most High:

And call upon me in the day of trouble:
I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

Psalm 50: 14 and 15
