Mid-May Garden Poems

This morning, I am trying some ideas for short poems, from what I wrote yesterday.

grateful
to see old friends
time in the yard

flowers bloom
and bees visit
the gardens

primroses, ferns
daffodils, and
bleeding hearts

lily and hyacinth
plants from stores
now by the back door

Daily writing prompt for April 26, 2023

Daily writing prompt
Write about a time when you didn’t take action but wish you had. What would you do differently?

I am older now, and grateful for God’s grace more every day. Sometimes it seems that when I tried to get a few big things right, other things had to wait. God’s time.

And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us:
and establish thou the work of our hands upon us;
yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.

Psalm 90: 17

after rain

after rain
the beautiful earth
and gardens grow

sunlight in my study
praying the Psalms
on a Sunday afternoon

country cemetery
trumpet vines
growing taller
than the gravestones
