“A bright New Year”

Thank you for your visits to Poems From Psalms And Nature.

The Psalms Series 2020 was an encouragement. I have only briefly looked at the 2020 Stats, but my sense is that the Psalms series is helpful.

Good structure for me as well, and I learned more technical skills. As I reprinted verses, I proofread carefully. This led to a focus on writing craft.

Most of all — faith, comfort, hope, empathy, love, gratitude, praise.

One day at a time. Take good care.

The Psalms Series 2020: A Summary

The Psalms series this year is one of the projects I think of first, as I reflect upon 2020. The idea was simple: post short selections from the 150 Psalms, with pictures. I worked with the King James Version of the Bible. My study of short poetry forms inspired my presentation for some of the verses.

My thought was that readers can do their own research from here, if they wish. I did not assume that someone already knew the Psalms.

The series was from March 2020 – July 2020. This fall, I worked to summarize the content in different ways.

With blogs, there are so many ways to create. I cannot read “everything” I would like to read. The following offers different ways for readers to connect with the Psalms and art. Perhaps some day we can create a small print book from the series. Thank you, and blessings today and always. Take good care.

These are the archives for the months. They give an overall sense of the verses and pictures (with credits). There are other posts as well.

Here are the Index Pages. They list the posts for each month, with links to the original posts. The Pages are filed under Menu. These will help the reader who wishes to see the post for a specific Psalm.

The Psalms Series: March 2020 Index – Selections from Psalms 1 – 25

The Psalms Series: April 2020 Index  – Selections from Psalms 26 – 67

The Psalms Series: May 2020 Index – Selections from Psalms 68 – 100

The Psalms Series: June 2020 Index – Selections from Psalms 101 – 126

The Psalms Series: July 2020 Index – Selections from Psalms 127 – 150

The Pages are filed under Menu on this site.

Then I created Blog Collages. My recent post, Blog Collage: Prayers and Hope, also lists all the collages so far, with links to the posts.

I hope that with the Archives for the months, Index Pages, and Blog Collages/Posts, that readers enjoy a new way of reading from the Psalms – and discover them again, or read anew.

A long time ago, I taught Sunday School. One of my goals was for the students to be comfortable with their Bibles, to learn to read, so they could search for themselves. I pray the Psalms.

God be merciful unto us, and bless us;
and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah.

That thy way may be known upon earth,
thy saving health among all nations.

As you can see, for this collage I selected a post from each month for the series (March 2020 – July 2020). The collages are another way to review and perhaps introduce the Psalms to new readers. Always new.
