Steady Growth With Poetry

How would you rate your confidence level?

Daily writing prompt

I can say: steady growth with poetry, because of practice with blogs. I also read blogs, books, and poetry print journals. Reading is an important part of growing as a writer, as many have observed. Practice helps with “confidence level.” Always more to learn, a poem can be revised, and an editor may have a good idea.

And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us:
and establish thou the work of our hands upon us;
yea, the work of our hands establish thou it.
Psalm 90: 17

Compassion International

Karl and I sponsor three children with Compassion International. They are from three countries, and they live with their families. We receive letters and updates. I plan to write some Easter notes soon. We have worked with them for years, and there are many ways to help.

What is the last thing you learned?

And So My Soul

How has a failure, or apparent failure, set you up for later success?

Daily writing prompt

This is a poem from long ago.

AND SO MY SOUL

And so my soul
Spills over
Into print again
As the sun spills
Over flowers
And the neighborhood
Sleeps

Endurance is eloquent
And marigolds are
Admirable because
They bloom
So long

Oh, my heart
Is tender
Yet God keeps it
Strong
And so my soul
Spills over
Into print again
