Good Manners

Daily writing prompt
Describe a random encounter with a stranger that stuck out positively to you.

Good Manners

someone helps me
at the library
and I say thank you
then help someone else
at the grocery store

Autumn in the air
young people
open doors for me
at the library

I mentioned in an earlier post that Karl and I sponsor three children with Compassion International. They are from three countries, and they live with their families. We sent Easter greetings through the email service Compassion International provides. We are no longer strangers. We are friends.

Prompt for April 10, 2023

Daily writing prompt
If you could be a character from a book or film, who would you be? Why?

My mother taught literature and read novels. When she was no longer able to read, I read to her. And found old movies that she would enjoy, and that would recall her life chapters. We also watched current programs.

I have read all of Jan Karon’s novels. Wonderful characters. Good examples of faith through many stories. You can learn more about Jan’s books at Jan Karon’s Mitford site.

after rain

after rain
the beautiful earth
and gardens grow

growing taller

Poetry Books and Journals

Daily writing prompt
What job would you do for free?

Karl and I have served as volunteers in different ways over the years.

We received good feedback about the large print chapbook we created from our site Quiet Christmas Poetry. We donated many copies to nursing homes, thrift stores, and libraries. Our families shared the book as well.

Perhaps someone will discover blogs from the book too.

Our book can be ordered from Time of Singing poetry journal. Lora Homan Zill is Editor. There is a Time of Singing Order Form filed under “subscriptions/back issues/books” at the Time of Singing site. All proceeds benefit this print journal. We are grateful.
