Sunday thoughts

Daily writing prompt
What does “having it all” mean to you? Is it attainable?

As I type this post, the May garden grows and begins to look towards June. Today is sunny. We enjoy our old house, and are grateful every day. Good to have goals, and goals can be revised as needed. Memorial Day Weekend, 2023.

Do you have any collections?

Bible on my shelf
a ribbon holds my place
in the Psalms

older now
used books settle
in their new home

new space
on a few shelves
donated books

“older now” was published in All the Way Home: Aging in Haiku (2019). Edited by Robert Epstein. Middle Island Press, West Union, WV.

What is the legacy you want to leave behind?

I love the LORD,
because he hath heard
my voice and
my supplications.

Psalm 116: 1

That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving,
and tell of all thy wondrous works.

Psalm 26: 7

far from perfect
and in need of grace
we found our way
to unconditional love

Mid-May Garden Poems

This morning, I am trying some ideas for short poems, from what I wrote yesterday.

grateful
to see old friends
time in the yard

flowers bloom
and bees visit
the gardens

primroses, ferns
daffodils, and
bleeding hearts

lily and hyacinth
plants from stores
now by the back door

What was the last live performance you saw?

This prompt brings back memories of attending concerts by the MSO Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra some time ago. We watch many good art and music programs on Milwaukee PBS. Thank you.
