Describe an item you were incredibly attached to as a youth. What became of it?
Daily Prompt
This prompt recalled a post from May 15, 2012: A Cross Necklace. I will reprint the post today.
The lilies-of-the-valley are beginning to bloom. My mother loved them, as I’m sure is true of many people. I was just reading poems by Luci Shaw, and I shared her books with Mom too. I remembered a marble cross necklace my mother had. She gave me permission to wear it to high school, over 40 years ago. And I lost it somehow and never found it. My mother was so kind. She pictured God’s love for me in many ways, including the keeping of material possessions in perspective.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water,
that bringeth forth his fruit in his season;
his leaf also shall not wither;
and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
Psalm 1: 3
When are you most happy?
Daily Prompt
I am grateful for simple everyday life. The house is warm, we have water, and I am able to sit and write a post. As others have written about the Psalms, we can learn to be grateful through our life chapters. There can be new happiness after grief.
We are sponsoring children in different countries with Compassion International. This week, through their email cards and help with translation, we sent Christmas and New Year greetings. And a general small gift to help with vaccinations in the world. This too is gratitude. We also support efforts to care for others here in Wisconsin, USA.
Take good care. Thank you and blessings.
But as it is written,
eye hath not seen,
nor ear heard,
neither have entered
into the heart of man,
the things which
God hath prepared
for them that love him.
