Remembrance

Do you believe in fate/destiny?

Daily writing prompt

My father was called Home in March, 40 years ago this year. He was a veteran and history teacher. Once he said to me, “Everything will be OK in the end.”

My parents had “big picture faith.”

One day at a time . . . we try our best and also learn from what life teaches.

For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD:
thou art my trust from my youth.

Psalm 71: 5

Thoughts, Poems, Photos

Who are your favorite people to be around?

Daily writing prompt

As I pray the Psalms, there is a sense of love and strength through time. I think of my parents and others no longer on earth. Love endures and grows. Friendships change too, as life asks different things of us. Blogs and books, faith and prayer, are constants. I remember how my mother reconnected with some old friends in their old age. Thank you for visiting today.

“a lamp unto my feet”

Tell us about your favorite pair of shoes, and where they’ve taken you.

Daily writing prompt

I wear good shoes with good support. Old shoes for the garden and newer shoes for other places – but the same kind of walking shoes. I am careful to avoid falls.

I learned a lot about safety and preventing falls when I helped with my mother’s care, and all we did for her and at her home. So here too.

And I searched the site for a verse that goes with the prompt.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet,
and a light unto my path.
