reading haiku
all the places we live
all we have in common
My poem was inspired by the Haiku Society of America members anthologies.
Spring will return
here and there
and then I’ll say,
“When did this happen?”
Today, though,
I rest in longer light
on evergreens
in a tiny bit of wind
Poem by Ellen Grace Olinger
“This is the day”
and I rejoice
light snow on the garage roof
and the brick path
warm water to wash
breakfast dishes
music and books
home
This is the day which the LORD hath made;
we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118: 24
A new poem yesterday to follow my post, Bloganuary prompt for January 15, 2022, at POEMS FROM OOSTBURG, WISCONSIN. The question was What is a life lesson you feel everyone can benefit from learning?
yesterday afternoon
for a short time
sunny and cold
the evergreen
branches in wind
inspired thoughts
of Spring
and then the day
grew grey as it
ended and Winter
here for awhile
with gratitude
