Spring Prayers

Sometimes answers to our prayers arrive in the same way as Spring.  One day we hear a new bird song, another day we see an eagle soaring, snow melts, and we look forward to some work in the yard, in the sunshine.   Seemingly small things add up to transformation and a new season.  God is with us always and He loves us.

Ash Wednesday

snow covers cotoneasters

that will green soon

This morning I thought of Isaiah 61: 3 (KJV):

       …to give unto them beauty for ashes,
the oil of joy for mourning,
the garment of praise
for the spirit of heaviness…

Psalm 42 – Song in the Night

Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts:

all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.

Yet the Lord will command his lovingkindness

in the daytime, and in the night

his song shall be with me,
