after rain

after rain
the beautiful earth
and gardens grow

sunlight in my study
praying the Psalms
on a Sunday afternoon

country cemetery
trumpet vines
growing taller
than the gravestones

Lovingkindness

What was the best compliment you’ve received?

Daily writing prompt

A good question for reflection – many things are important, but growing as a person through everything is a goal.

Kindness, love, hope, encouragement . . . God’s grace.

Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.

Remember, O LORD,
thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses;
for they have been ever of old.

Psalm 25: 1, 6

Psalm 4

Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness:
thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress;
have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.

Psalm 4: 1

Post from March 20, 2020 – thought I would share a few posts from our 2020 series. New for some readers, and always good to read again.

Compassion International

Karl and I sponsor three children with Compassion International. They are from three countries, and they live with their families. We receive letters and updates. I plan to write some Easter notes soon. We have worked with them for years, and there are many ways to help.

February Poems

still room
for robins in spring
broken branch
covered with snow
by my study window

evergreens and sky
is blue – some snow
on branches
yet more green today
I think of snowdrops
in spring
