Spring photos for The Daily Post challenge “Victory”

For the Victory challenge at The Daily Post:  spring photos, with two short poems.  We keep spring in our hearts during the beauty of winter.

For, lo, the winter is past,
the rain is over and gone;
The flowers appear on the earth;
the time of the singing
of birds is come,
and the voice of the turtle
is heard in our land . . .

Song of Solomon 2: 11-12 (KJV)

all winter
flowers rested
in the earth
beauty begins
in the heart

birds sing
outside the window
as we join with many
who pray the Psalms

For the “Ornate” challenge at The Daily Post

For the WordPress Challenge Ornate: I made this needlepoint picture of the Cezanne painting years and years ago.  The kit was high quality and then we had the needlepoint framed.  Photo by Karl.

These photos from my garden journal (2015) also seem to go with the theme this week.

God’s special gift
to me today

where once I mourned irises

we hold the door
for older people
memories of Mom

cold so very cold
yet sunrise colors
show me flowers
that will bloom

“birds perch” was published in Time Of Singing (1995).
