leaves – two poems

old weathered trees
in afternoon sun
seem so peaceful
why worry about leaves
not just yet
the sun is longer
and maybe warmer
and the sky is blue

*

new leaves
on the house plant
grow smaller
than the old
and just as green

poems about trees

branch
with no leaves
silence

as beautiful
without leaves
birch trees
in the forest

*

looking at trees
I remember prayers
of friends

*

trees with full leaves
providing shade
comfort of faith

Psalm 1: 3 (KJV):

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water,
that bringeth forth his fruit in his season;
his leaf also shall not wither;
and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
