January Remembrance
late-day sun
on the gravestones
we shall meet again
I came across this poem in my archives. My parents had January birthdays, in 1915 and 1917.

Short Advent Poems
Christmas CDs
playing with the volume low
in the fields
the beauty of harvested
corn in snow
Northern sun
shines on frozen beach
still the days grow shorter
shadow of poinsettia
on the wall
lighting the
Christmas candle
tiny flame
transforms
the night
Christmas night sky
becomes sunrise
tree branches
covered with ice
glisten in the sun
snowflakes
floating in the air
separate
together
artists
across places
and time
“lighting the Christmas candle” was also published by Hermitage (2005) and The Writers’ Bistro (2007).
