October sunrise
and some lights
in the house
not needed now
I stop to record
the moment and pray:
This is the day which the LORD hath made;
we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Saturday afternoon
some time to listen
to quiet music and read
sunlight fills a lamp
that is not needed now
and the light shines
on the wall with art
by people I know
who also offer light
beauty hope
From Psalm 119:
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet,
and a light unto my path.
Psalm 119: 105
When my spirit
was overwhelmed within me,
then thou knewest my path.
Psalm 142: 3a (KJV)

God’s promises
raindrops decorate
my study window
outside new leaves grow
on the tree I watched
turn gold

I will love thee, O Lord, my strength. Psalm 18: 1 (KJV)

The LORD hear thee
in the day
of trouble . . .
Grant thee
according to
thine own heart,
and fulfill all
thy counsel.
Psalm 20: 1a, 4 (KJV)
I formed some of the words from Psalm 20 into the shape of a short poem.
