Peace be within thy walls,
and prosperity within thy palaces.

For my brethren and companions’ sakes,
I will now say, Peace be within thee.

Because of the house of the LORD our God,
I will seek thy good.

John One: The Word

And the Word
was made flesh
and dwelt among us . . .

John 1: 14a (KJV)

This week I also read the Christmas story in Matthew and Luke. A great blessing, and to also refresh my memory about the history and all the characters in the story. So often I am reading my Bible, and then am inspired to write a post.

These two paintings are by Monet, and courtesy of wpclipart.

In Loving Memory

My mother’s passing was in 2004. Life was not always easy for my parents, and yet when I think of them, I think of unconditional love. Poetry is memoir for me. This is a favorite poem. I no longer drive this route, yet memories are as vivid as yesterday. I took the photo this year.

through the Light
of Christmas
I found my way
home

from a hospital
and nursing home
through city and
small town
Main Streets

their streetlamps
with holiday lights

as my mother
was on her way
Home

the time we shared

and still share

I am slowly reviewing my 2019 blog archives.

I love the Lord,
because he hath heard my voice
and my supplications.

GRACE

gifts of small moments
when I read and write

in the middle of all
that happens every day

in our worlds
large and small

I am more than content
with what I have
and have achieved

goals revised
and rewritten for now

When my spirit
was overwhelmed within me,
then thou knewest my path.

Psalm 142: 3a (KJV)

routine care
and happy to wait my turn
I watch the world go by
and my heart
fills with love

Blessings,
Ellen Grace Olinger

Poem and Pictures

Old Wood In The House

strong winter winds
old wood in the house
ceilings, floors, walls
startling me in the early hours
speaking to me this day

resilience
strength

the way
Hope holds

CREATIVE NOTE: December 19, 2019 was our 10th anniversary with WordPress.com. If you wish, see the Achievement post at Poems from Oostburg, Wisconsin. We began this site, Poems From Psalms and Nature, in July 2010. These 10 years hold a lot of life, a lot of hope. I always feel I am just beginning . . . thank you.

I enjoy the research for images at wpclipart.
