In the LORD put I my trust . . .

My mother’s passing was in 2004. Life was not always easy for my parents, and yet when I think of them, I think of unconditional love. Poetry is memoir for me. This is a favorite poem. I no longer drive this route, yet memories are as vivid as yesterday. I took the photo this year.
through the Light
of Christmas
I found my way
home
from a hospital
and nursing home
through city and
small town
Main Streets
their streetlamps
with holiday lights
as my mother
was on her way
Home
the time we shared
and still share

But we have this treasure
in earthen vessels,
that the excellency

may be of God,
and not of us.

books and music
from over the years
live on these shelves
even if I don’t
reread or listen again
somehow their
healing influence
is in these words
older now
and when I shop
and when those who
help me are so kind
I am truly blessed
Poems from my archives
Through Pandora, I have been introduced to new music. Some of the artists are Helen Jane Long, Brian Crain, and Karen Marie Garrett. I bought a few CDs from Amazon. I like seeing the designs of the CDs, reading the notes, and being able to listen to a whole work by one artist.
And I am so grateful for kindness – here with our blogs, in our town, and other places. Thank you!
