Sunday morning

“If we were having coffee . . .” I would share that this week I found some past spring issues of Time Of Singing, to read while waiting for the new issue, which arrived yesterday.

It is so meaningful to reread poems that helped me through a difficult time, and then discover reassurance for today’s challenges as well.

TOS is a poetry print journal edited by Lora Homan Zill.

I love the beauty of language, of poetry.  Sometimes I read one poem several times, and often aloud.  Over time, I also learn more about craft.

Blessings,

Time Of Singing: A Journal Of Christian Poetry

The Winter 2015/16 Time Of Singing arrived in the mail yesterday (Volume 42, Number 3).  This print journal is edited by Lora Homan Zill and is published by Wind & Water Press.

I am grateful to Lora Zill for reprinting O CHRIST, BE CLOSER, my responsive reading.  I shared this poem in a post on May 19, 2015.

Lora includes a note at the end of the new issue, and shares that “TOS has published poets not only from the U.S. but also from Mexico, Russia, Denmark, Croatia, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, South Africa, Germany, UK, and Albania, plus our many Canadian friends.  TOS is sent to prison inmates, libraries and church libraries.”

Time Of Singing also has a Facebook page.

Quiet Christmas Poetry and Time Of Singing

Under “Book Offers” in the Fall 2015 issue of Time Of Singing, Lora Homan Zill, Editor, included a picture of the Christmas book and wrote: “Light and easy to hold, with large print, it is ideal for anyone battling or recovering from serious illness, or who needs a special word of encouragement over the holiday season.”  This was the goal, and we are grateful.

If you wish to order a copy of Quiet Christmas Poetry, please visit the books page at Time Of Singing.  There is an ordering form that may be printed.  The price is $5.00 per copy, or 3 copies for $12.00.  All proceeds benefit TOS.

A subscription for Time Of Singing would also be a wonderful gift for others, and perhaps for yourself as well.

The book cover photo of the winter Lake Michigan beach is by Karl.  I’ll close this post with his original photo.

Blessings, Ellen

Time Of Singing Fall 2015

Today I am reading the new issue of Time Of Singing; edited by Lora Homan Zill and published four times each year by Wind & Water Press.

The Fall issue includes book reviews, and I had the privilege of reviewing DAYSTAR Reflections Prayers and Poems by Betty Spence.  I highly recommend her book and there is more information at Betty’s site.

You can also visit Time Of Singing on Facebook.

Lora Homan Zill’s site is the blue collar artist.

Creative Notes

I receive email updates from Barbara Crooker.  One of the pages on her website is Barbara Crooker’s poems published online.

This weekend I also enjoyed visiting Lora Zill’s site, the blue collar artist.  I’ve known Lora as the editor of Time Of Singing for years.  I enjoyed reading her About Me page and learning about her creative work in other areas as well.

Blessings, Ellen
