The Snow Falls

the snow falls
and the sun rises

I see the sun reflected
in a neighbor’s window

the snow falls
on everything

evergreen branches
picnic tables, rocks, grass

planters left untouched
for just this reason

the snow falls
on everything

also the graves
the fields that were
parched

this gentle healing
snowfall

poem and photos

Yesterday, I rediscovered this poem.

rain today
how soon we reach
the end of what we know
and how deep
faith continues to grow

We enjoyed watching paperwhites bloom in the house last year.

rain today

rain today
and trees let go more leaves

autumn earth
and roots grateful for rain

autumn years now
and the seasons
are my teachers

grow, rest, renew
each season its
own beauty
