This time of great need

Thank you for your support for this new series. The Psalms may be new literature for some readers, and so well-known by others. However many times I read, the Psalms are new.

There are many times when the Psalms give me the words to say. They express honest emotions, and help readers to trust and praise.

As I reread for this series, I am ever more sure of their wisdom. And as a writer, copying from the King James Version here, I am noticing more about craft.

Then the beauty of the research for images. Then sharing with all at this time of great need in our world.

Next post will be from Psalm 17.

‘GOOD’ AS IN FRIDAY

He fashioned from their cross
a throne.
He made of death a door.
He robed his nakedness
in love,
And needed nothing more.

For though they wrapped his
broken flesh
in linen crisp and white,
He left sin’s costly fabric
soiled
And cloaked himself in light

That shines the centuries
undimmed
to pierce earth’s dark despair,
By spilling scarlet car-
peting
Up Heaven’s radiant stair.

Easter Dinner

The background is red
Her hair has become silver
And her dress is rust.
Her smile these days is pure gold
And her eyes sparkle anew.

This poem was written for my mother.
