Easter Poems

These are poems from my archives.

Easter sunrise
two lily flowers
by the window –
family in Heaven
and thoughts
of those on Earth

light reaches branches
on old tall trees
Easter sunrise

Easter lily blooms
in cold Wisconsin Spring
furnace runs
and through the rooms
fragrance of flowers

morning clouds
and here and there
enough light for the lily

Spring grows
afternoon shadows
on a green lawn

Psalm 37 and Short Poems

Trust in the LORD, and do good;
so shalt thou dwell in the land,
and verily thou shalt be fed.

Psalm 37: 3

clouds and yet
enough light
to fill a jam jar
with the last
of the carnations

gulls lifting
from the sand
corn an inch tall

summer sun
thrift store bowl painted
with leaves and fruit

mid-August
blueberries on sale
from Canada now

poems we read
again and again
washing an old plate
the pattern
still new

“gulls lifting” was published in SMILE (2009, 2010); and Bell’s Letters Poet (2010).

Poems are by Ellen Grace Olinger.
